Cousin Asa’s first birthday!
Summertime here has come to an end here in Hong Kong (too bad the weather still hasn’t received that memo with daily temps well over 100 degrees if you include the humidity index) and we are gearing up for the next school year. Jayven is now in K2 afternoon classes at the local preschool and loving it!
We had a memorable summer with outings to the pool, birthday parties, popsicles, trips into China (see below) and even a visit to Ocean Park! But like most people, we are looking forward to the Fall! Quite a few exciting events are taking place over the next few months (see below)!

Ollie spent the week with Aunt Janis and Cousin Asa
This summer started off with two back to back trips into China. We are so thankful for the teams that came from America and helped to accomplish so much!

The first trip we took was more geared towards children/teens and we held an “English Camp”. Everyone who attended received Jesus by the end of the week. Many of these people had never even heard the name of Jesus before. The children (and even some of their parents!) all left with a Bible and a basic understanding of who God is and how much He loves and cares for them. As best we can we try and work with our contact to connect these young people and their families to local faith gatherings.
The second trip we worked with a registered government church that has over 5,000 members. This is a influential church is actively reaching the surrounding villages.
A few years ago they started what is known as the first Christian Kindergarten in that area of China. Our team was able to minister in the kindergarten as well as a surrounding village.
The church and the leaders suffered much persecution at first from the community. The school was continually vandalized and harassed by the community for proclaiming to be a Christian school. Thankfully, over the years they have gained a rapport with the people and the government in that city and are recognized as one of the best kindergartens.

Our Church Launch in Hong Kong
As mentioned previously, there are currently some exciting events taking place in HK. We are getting ready to do a church relaunch in a new area of Hong Kong. The area is known as Tseung Kwan O (TKO).
On December 3rd 2017 we will be doing our first Sunday service in this new location. We believe God is leading us in this direction because the location our current church facility is in an industrial area, making it more difficult for families to access. We believe our church is called to reach the families in HK and help them to discover how through a relationship with Jesus, they too can have a loving family of their own.
The area of TKO is home to over 136,000 families, so from now until December 3rd we will be promoting the new church coming to the TKO area and meeting as many people and families as possible and inviting them to attend the first service, or become part of our launch team.
Thank you for how much you continue to pray and support the work being done here in Hong Kong and China. We consider it a privilege to be here and share with many the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We love and pray for you continually.
